বিদেশে পড়ালেখার মানে পড়া আর লিখাই। গ্র্যাজুয়েট লেভেলের প্রতিটা ক্লাশে ১০০-১৫০ পেইজ (পিএইচডি লেভেলে ১ ক্লাশে ২০০-২৫০০ পেইজের একটা বই) পড়ে তারপর ক্লাশে যেতে হয়। দেশে স্যাররা আগে একটা টপিক নিয়ে একদিন পড়াতেন, তারপরে সেটার উপর প্রশ্ন করতেন। আর এখানে আগে স্টুডেন্টরা কোন টপিকের উপর পড়াশুনা করে ক্লাশে যাবে, তারপর সবাই মিলে সে বিষয়ে ডিসকাস করবে।
কি আলচনা করা হয়? যা পড়েছি তার সামারি আলাপ করলে প্রফেসরের মন ভরবে না, তিনি বলবেন এটা তো আমরা সবাই জানি। অথরের কোন কোন পয়েন্ট তোমার ভালো লেগেছে বলো, কি কি বিষয়ে আর্গুমেন্ট আছে তোমার। ২ টা আর্টিকেল পড়তে দিলে জিজ্ঞেস করবে ২ জন রাইটারের মধ্যে লজিক্যাল মিল বা অমিল কোথায়!
এমন একটা বিষয় নিয়ে সবাই মিলে কথা বলে বিষয়টা বোঝার চেষ্টা করা হয়। লার্নিং গুলোকে বাস্তবতা দিয়ে যাচাই করা হয়। আর ক্লাশ শেষে সে বিষয়ে সবাই একটা আন্ডারস্ট্যান্ডিং নিয়ে যায়। প্রফেসরের কাজ হলো এ আলোচনাটা পরিচালনা করা আর ক্ষেত্র বিশেষে ওনার মতামত বা কোন প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিয়ে স্টুডেন্ট দের হেল্প করা। এখানে ক্লাশের পুরো কন্সেপ্ট টাই অন্য রকম আর মুখস্তের কিছু নেই। যা পড়েছেন, বুঝতে হবে, সেটাকে বিশ্লেষণ করতে পারতে হবে আর বাস্তবতার নিরিখে যাচাই করতে হবে (বিশেষ করে স্যোসাল সাইন্সের সাব্জেক্টে)।
তাই, যারা উচ্চ-শিক্ষায় বিদেশে যাওয়ার কথা ভাবছেন, তাদের জন্য লার্নিং হলো-
১. অনেক পড়ার অভ্যাস করতে হবে এখন থেকে
২. মুখস্থ না করে বোঝার চেষ্টা করতে হবে (কারণ মুখস্ত করে লাভ নেই যেহেতু আমাদের মত কোন পরীক্ষা নেই। পরীক্ষা পদ্ধতি নিয়ে লিখব একদিন)
৩. যা শিখছি, তা বাস্তব কোন কিছুর সাথে মেলানোর চেষ্টা করতে হবে।
বিঃদ্রঃ- এখানকার পড়াশুনার ছোট অভিজ্ঞতা গুলো ছোট করে শেয়ার করতে চাই সময় পেলে যাতে দেশ থেকে এসে এসব দেখে তাজ্জ্বব হওয়া না লাগে। শেয়ার করে অন্যদের জানাতে পারেন।
